There are 3 basic thriller openings.
- A narrative opening - a narrative opening is when the titles running throughout the whole of the film opening
- A discrete title sequence- A discrete title sequence is a small, self contained film that may not have much relevance to the actual opening of the film but is used just to introduce the titles.
- Titles over a blank screen - Where the titles run over a blank screen. For example when text is shown we are faded into a blank screen.
